    Build flow improvements

    Follow

    Overview

The MarketEdge build flow has been cleaned up to better fit your workflow. Authoring panels follow the natural order users work in. Two of the most-requested controls are now opt-in. The Scenario dropdown lives where you use it, and the Purchase Price field appears on the two pages you reach for it.

    What changed:

    • Smoother editor with a default Page Fit view, lighter canvas treatment, and a consolidated page widget picker.
    • Scenario dropdown moved out of the global property header and into the Analysis tab.
    • Purchase Price field appears in both the Property tab and Analysis-Financing tab with bidirectional sync.
    • Redesigned widget toolbars with cleaner visual treatment and less clutter across the Presentation Editor.
    • Allow Widget Resizing checkbox in the editor to lock layouts.
    • Auto-sizing text toggle in Settings > My Default Settings.

    Prerequisites

Before exploring the build flow updates, you need:

    • An active RealNex MarketEdge Property to access the Property, Analysis, and Presentation tabs.
    • A customizable presentation page available in edit mode.

Purchase Price on both Property and Analysis-Financing

1: Edit Purchase Price from either page

The Purchase Price field is now available on both the Property tab and the Analysis-Financing tab.

    • Editing Purchase Price on either page updates the value across both views.
    • The Purchase Price field on the Analysis-Financing tab lets you adjust price as you work the Price Analyzer, so financing scenarios and price changes can be evaluated side by side without tab-hopping.

Scenario dropdown moved into the Analysis tab

2: Switch scenarios from the Analysis tab

Click the Analysis tab. The Scenario dropdown is inline with the sub-tabs of the Analysis tab.

    • The dropdown is no longer in the global property header. The header is cleaner across the property.
    • Switching scenarios is a one-step action inside the tab where you actually use it.

    Smoother editor

    3: Open a presentation page

From your open MarketEdge Property, click the Presentation tab. Open a customizable page from the Presentation Contents panel and enter edit mode.

    • The editing canvas opens in a default Page Fit view so the whole page is visible without scrolling.
    • The canvas treatment is lighter and the page zoom has been refreshed.
    • The page widget picker is consolidated into a cleaner view.
    • The settings panel stays inside the visible area when dragged.

    Redesigned widget toolbars

4: Use the redesigned widget toolbars

From a Presentation, click into any applied widget in the Custom Page Editor. The widget toolbar that appears has been redesigned for cleaner visual treatment and less clutter.

    • The same controls you already use, with a more modern, streamlined look.
    • Applies to every widget toolbar across the Presentation Editor.
    • No setting to toggle. The new look is on by default.

    Allow Widget Resizing

5: Lock widget sizing while you build the page

In the editor, find the Allow Widget Resizing checkbox.

    • Checked (default): widgets resize as before.
    • Unchecked: widget resizing is locked on the page so widgets cannot be accidentally resized while you move, select, or build around them.
    • Use it any time you are actively building a page and want widget sizing to stay fixed while you work.

    Auto-sizing text toggle

6: Set your default in My Default Settings

Click Settings > My Default Settings. Find the Auto-sizing text toggle.

    • On: text scales as you edit so it stays inside the widget.
    • Off (default): font size stays put as you edit, risking text cutoff if it’s not manually resized.

    Additional Options

    Clearer warnings and labels

    • Projections tab warning: copy is more descriptive so the message is easier to act on.
    • Row/Column gap dialog reset button: renamed for clarity.

    Image caption controls

On image widgets, checking the Show Caption checkbox shifts focus to the caption and selects it. The caption controls offer deeper alignment, sizing, and formatting options without leaving the editor.

    Tips and Best Practices

    • Edit Purchase Price from whichever page you are on. The field syncs across the Property tab and the Analysis-Financing tab. Use the Analysis-Financing tab when you want the Price Analyzer alongside the Purchase Price you are adjusting.
    • Switch scenarios from where you use them. The Scenario dropdown is now inline with the Analysis tab.
    • Lock widget resizing while you build. Uncheck Allow Widget Resizing while you are actively moving widgets, selecting them, or laying out a page. It prevents accidental resizing while you work.
    • Turn auto-sizing text on for marketing layouts. Pages where text often runs past widget boundaries benefit most from the toggle. Leave it off when fixed type sizing is the goal.
    • Works on any browser, any device, including iPad. The build flow updates render the same way across desktop and tablet browsers.
