This article will walk you through how to allow/block/reset CRM reminder notifications in your browser. This applies only to notifications displayed by your browser any time there is a reminder in your CRM.
Regardless of your choice to see browser notifications, the CRM will ALWAYS display a dialog box with your reminders, whenever you have one.
MAC USERS – Please follow the instructions below FIRST to confirm that your system allows for browser notifications:
- Go to System Preferences
- Click on Notifications & Focus
- Make sure the Notifications section is selected
- Scroll down the list of programs until you see Google Chrome (or the browser where you are seeing the issue)
- You should see two entries for Google Chrome, one reading Badges, Sounds, Alerts and the other Off
- Click on the Google Chrome entry that reads Off
- Click the Slider next to Allow Notifications
- Choose the type of Notification you want, and turn on or off any other options
- Show Notifications on Lock Screen
- Show in Notification Center
Allowing Notifications
After your initial login after the release of this feature, you may have, or will, see this message:
If you selected “No,” but have now decided you would like browser notifications, please click here.
Turning on this feature will show you browser notification like this:
Be sure to click “Close” when you get the notification. Otherwise, no further notifications are displayed.
If you select “Yes,” the following instructions will depend upon which browser you are using. Click the browser you are using to review the instructions:
Microsoft Edge
Edge silently blocks the prompt regardless of your choice. To turn on notifications, click the bell icon in the address bar and select “Allow”:
Google Chrome
Click “Allow” when this popup appears:
Safari
Click “Allow” when this popup appears:
Firefox
Click “Allow” when this popup appears:

Manually Turning Notifications On
If you selected “No” from the initial dialog box (or if you click “Block” or “Don’t Allow” when your browser prompted you) but decide that you now want to see the notifications, the instructions vary on your browser. Click the browser you are using to review the instructions:
Google Chrome:
- Click on the lock
icon on the left side of the address bar
- If the Notifications permission is displayed in the dropdown, enable it, and reload the page.
- If the Notifications permission is not displayed, click on “Site Settings,” locate Notifications and select “Allow” in the dropdown.
Safari:
- Click on the “Safari” menu option and select “Settings”
- In the dialog box that opens, click “Websites”
- Scroll down in the list on the left column to locate “Notifications”
- In the list of websites that show in the right section, locate crm.realnex.com and select Allow.
Firefox:
- Click on the blocked notification icon in the address bar
- Click on X next to “Blocked”
3. Refresh the page to see the notification prompt again.
